the story of olas & flamingo
Why We Named It Olas & Flamingo
In Spanish, olas means waves. That's where it started — with the feeling of stepping away from everything for a little while. The kind of exhale you take when your toes hit warm sand and the noise of the day finally goes quiet.
We never set out to build just a salon. Nashville has plenty of those. What we wanted was a place that felt like a getaway, somewhere you could walk in carrying a hard week and walk out feeling like yourself again. So we painted the walls in coral and fun arches. We filled the rooms with light and greenery. We made it the kind of space you don't want to rush out of.
Six years in, what we're proudest of isn't the color work or the Dryology pedicures or the Joon System treatments, as much as we love all of that. It's the regulars who feel like friends. It's the bride who came in nervous and left glowing. It's the client who told us this was the one hour all week that belonged to her.
We're a small team, and every one of us cares about the person in our chair. We learn your name. We remember your last visit. We notice when something's off and we celebrate when something's good.
Two locations now — one in the heart of 12 South, one near Travis Drive — and the same heart in both. The same waves. The same little escape.
If you've been with us through these six years, thank you. You're the reason any of this is real. And if you're new, come find us. We saved you a seat by the window.
