why we custom built a ventilation system into our 12 south location — for our clients, and just as much for our team

walk into most salons and you can smell the industry. acrylic, remover, developer, lacquer — it all hangs in the air, and everyone just accepts it as part of getting your hair or nails done.

we didn't want to accept it. so when we built out our 12 south location, we invested in something most salons never do: a custom built-in ventilation system, designed to keep fumes moving out and fresh air moving in — all day, every day.

you shouldn't have to breathe your beauty services

salon products do real work, and some of them come with real fumes. the answer isn't pretending otherwise — it's engineering the space so those fumes never linger.

that's what our ventilation system does. air is continuously pulled away and exchanged instead of sitting in the room, so what you breathe during your appointment is closer to a living room than a chemistry lab. you'll notice it the moment you walk in: our salon doesn't smell like a salon.

it's the same philosophy that runs through everything we do. we choose gentler products where they exist — like our air-dry, non-toxic polish system — and where the industry's tools do carry fumes, we make sure the building handles them.

this is for our team most of all

here's the part that matters most to us: you're in our salon for an hour or two. our stylists and nail artists are here all day, every working day, for years.

clean air is a client comfort. for our team, it's an occupational health decision. the people doing your hair and nails shouldn't have to trade their long-term health for their craft — and in our space, they don't. we think that's simply what taking care of your people looks like, and we'd rather build it into the walls than talk about culture on a poster.

healthy staff, by the way, do better work. calmer rooms, clearer heads, hands that aren't rushing to finish and step outside for air.
